Save money buying used auto parts


I am the type of person that likes all my things brand-spanking new. When I bought my first home 2 years ago I did so off of floor plans and visited my new home weekly to view it being built from the ground up. I also lease all the family cars for 3 years each so that we are always driving a new car in good repair. Bottom line is that I am not your average used car parts shopper but I just might become a permanent convert after my last trip to the auto recycling yard. I know there are some people that use things like cash for clunkers and the retire your ride program but I just don’t ever let my cars get that old.

It was a week before I had to return my leased van, a Honda Odyssey and I realized I had cracked the bumper from a bit of a bad parking job I did at the local mall a few days prior. The cost the dealer was going to charge me was $1,900 and that was making me feel very upset. On a whim I decided to call up the local auto recycling yard here in Toronto and find out if they had one in stock and what cost savings I might get. To my surprise the cost of the bumper was only $395 and they even gave me a local contact that did the installation for $100, saving $1,400 sure put a smile on my face. So next time you think used auto parts just aren’t for you, think again and it might save you some serious cash.

Uwe Gemballa Added Some Carbon To Carrera GT


Ten cylinders, loaded weight 1380 kg, light carbon monocoque in the basis construction… Porsche Carrera GT Supercar is a story. Production ended in 2006 and for three years they have produced 1270 machines. But some studios have continued to work on tuning packages for the former leader of Stuttgart brand. For example, the Gemballa Bureau issued a Mirage GT Carbon Edition kit.

Is not difficult to guess that the main emphasis is on the use of the carbon, because not only the carrying monocoque is made of the composite, but the entire body as well, including the impressive antiwing. With the use of carbon they have finished the center console and interior door panels.

After additional carboxylic diet Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition roadster weighs less than 1300 kg, and in fact behind his seats V10 5.7 engine with the new firmware «brains» and sports catalysts was installed. Porsche AG’s financial difficulties have forced them to stop the work in this area. Then it transformed according to the rules «24 hours of Le Mans»

Chevrolet Camaro with the Lingenfelter prefix will sound ominously


A situation when well-known American firms, engaged in tuning in Europe have little weight is usual. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is such kind of custom center, which stands among such monsters as the Saleen and Hennessey. For about 30 years the company tunes only American cars. And this time their eyes were turned to the original «Yankee» - Chevrolet Camaro SS.

specialists were not going to come cheap ant put all the cards on the table immediately - five tuning complects for V8 6.2 L99 and V8 6.2 LS3 motors with capacity from 550 to 800 power. The first three kits (550, 570 and 650 «horses») involve driving pr TVS2300, new software and optimized systems, cooling and injection, as well as the air filter.


The last two packages (750 and 800 forces) are different from the rest
in the scope of work. Under the hood 7L V8 engine is installed with finalized cylinders, forged pistons and titanium connecting-rod. However, less powerful version outputs its 750 horses and 928 N • m torque through pr, and top-version with the 800 hp and 1085 newton-meters - by two turbochargers.


Packages improvements will be made available
to the car with mechanic gearbox as well as the automatic. A monster with 550 hp tuners will do for two weeks from your Camaro, but the construction of 800-strong demon takes eight to ten weeks. It is a pity that the tuners do not yet disclose the price of their «growth pills».
