The New Golf GTI with 2.0L engine is good for everything except one thing - the price. But the German concern have special midget engines, which are capable of being a good and rather cheap foundation for more accessible «charged» Golf versions. Swiss atelier Sportec went exactly by that way, producing a relatively more affordable than GTI Golf 1.4 TSI.
The heart of the project is the finalizing of a 160hp-strong 1.4 TSI engine with 240 N • m torque. Swiss added the fresh software to the engine and replaced the basic factory version of an air filter with a sports one. Now indiscreet «turbofour» gives the whole 200 hp and 300 N • m, and the Golf GTI gives 210 horsepower and 280 newton-meters. Sportec SC 200 hatchback with mechanic gearbox accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in incredible 6,8 seconds - on one-tenth faster than the Golf GTI.
3-door Sportec SC 200 accelerates to 180 km / h from the place in 3.2 seconds faster in comparison with 160 hp - strong Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI.
Engine modification program is suitable for versions with six-gear mechanical gearbox, as well as for modifications with the DSG automatic transmission.
And to let your «almost GTI» to be good in other disciplines, tuners advise to put sports springs that reduce the clearance by 25 mm and a mechanical differential lock. But the most important is the price! In Germany, Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI Highline cost 23 700 euro. For 640 euro tuners will finalize the engine, and just for about one and a half thousand euros they will put differential lock and new springs. It is much cheaper than to pay 26 650 euro per ordinary Golf GTI.
At last tuners decided not to follow the traditional ways of expensive tuning and to make really affordable and decent tuning to let you save your money.

Literally from the first day of sale Tiguan became the most popular off road model in Germany. It is obvious that a tuning program of Tiguan by ABT Sportsline awaiting a great success too.

Tiguan clearly blossomed with the help of ABT Sportsline . In front of us is the case when body tuning elements help to reveal the true image of the car. Volkswagen Tiguan designers decided to leave a piece of unsaid: model turned out to be accurate, but unnoticeable. Now, thanks to ABT Sportsline , we know what really is Tiguan. In fact, Volkswagen introduced two variants of the front bumper for the Tiguan. Track & Field version got the bumper in the off-road style - with a typical plate protection in the central part. A version of Trend & Fun and Sport & Style got the bumper with a traditional design. ABT Sportsline only for them developed their overlay on the factory bumper. Got a cool one indeed!
More exciting experience of the behavior in the Tiguan turning can be achieved with a set of lowering springs. With these springs, and a 20-inch wheels Tiguan turns into a distant relative of a Golf GTI - with the suspension, rather rigidly developing roughness and with a good speed in the turns. Already a serial Tiguan charms with a typical of Volkswagen brand character - with mostly mild reactions and intuitive behavior in any situation.
Springs and wheels with low tires add some sporting notes. But ABT Sportsline is ready to help with the tuning of only 1.4-liter engine. Due to new control program, car operation has changed greatly: the power increased from 150 to 210 hp, and torque - from 240 to 290 Nm. Again, it is appropriate to compare with the hot hatchback: the tuned Tiguan version gets a strong catch sometimes after 3000 rpm. Thus forced engine does not concede to serial in the thrust at low revs. In ABT Sportsline inspiring dynamic characteristics are declared for their 1.4 TSI version.
After tuning the time of acceleration to 0-100 km / h is reduced from 9.6 to 8.0 seconds. To now ABT Sportsline has not finished working with the new 2-liter TSI engines. But their ideology allows to count on a significant increase in power
