Not so long ago in one of the races of BTCC racing championship Lancer Evolution X debuted, which was built by engineers from Mitsubishi Motors UK office with the support of ADR Motorsport. Some time afterwards, the first news appeared, that Mitsubishi will produce serial 400-strong version of a sports car, which will be a special FQ-400 modification of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X model on the market of England. So far, the most powerful «FQ» in the line is FQ-360, which as the name suggests, develops 360 hp.

2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine will be forced, its managing unit will receive the new settings, the standard exhaust system will be replaced by more effective. Total power of LanEvo X FQ-400 will be increased to 405 hp, although that number is not yet final. The torque will be 542 Nm. Motor will be offered with 5-speed gearbox only, because it is not known exactly how SST transmission will cope with the with double clutch high performance unit.

Expected that the acceleration to 100 km / h will be possible for 3.5 s (for comparison, FQ-360 is gaining speed 100 km / h in 4,1 s). The car will receive a new body kit with additional ventilation holes, including a large air intake on the bonnet and the slots for cooling the rear brakes. By the way, the braking system will also receive improvements: front, for example, 6-piston supports. Well, and the car will receive new rims – 18 inch size.

 According to forecasts, this model will be released in limited series of 100 copies and will become the most expensive modification of Lancer Evolution X - starting price will be about 45 000 pounds ($ 66 865), it means, 14 500 pounds higher than the predecessor.

German Väth studio autotuners continue to please fans of the new modified Mercedes models. It’s no secret that the firm from Hesbach is rather pre-conceived to cars of Stuttgart manufacturer. It concerns not only the mass models, but also tuned cars from the unit AMG.

At this time under the hot hands of specialists from Väth lies Mercedes SLK roadster 55 AMG. External developments of AMG were not so big, but the engineers are thoroughly «digged» inside the SLK 55.

In particular, thoroughly modernized atmospheric engine volume of 5.4 liter V8 received additional 400 cm working volume, a new firmware program, a sports air filter, new intake and exhaust system of stainless steel. As a result of tuning the cars power has increased from 360 hp up to 565 «horses», and torque - with 510 Nm to 770 Nm.

They also added to the car dynamics. Thus, acceleration to one hundred takes 4 seconds, which is 0.9 seconds faster than before the modifications. Top speed remains electronically limited at around 300 km / h.

The car was equipped with black discs, BBS, «dressed» in 235-35 R19 tires in front and 265/30 R19 in rear. Brakes acquired 380 mm discs and 8-piston supports. Regarding the modification of suspension, the tuners from Väth lowered clearance at 20-65 mm with a new set of springs. Salon got brand-new carpets, decoration of Alcantara and carbon.

Relatively young tuning-studio from Germany - FAB Design – are true specialists in refining and updating Mercedes-Benz car brand. After 12-years working experience with middle and premium-class cars company has decided to perform a cute tuning project of a solid sedan from Daimler concern. As the object of tuning a short-based version of Maybach 57S was chosen.

From outside body modifications it is necessary to note the unique aerodynamic improvement. With the new Maybach bodykit added additional 30 cm in width, resulting in a total width of the vehicle as 2010 mm. Special «gills» on the wings have not only the aesthetic function, but also responsible for additional cooling of the brakes. The only debatable point is the painting. According to many experts, blue metallic doesn’t suit the car of this class, though tuned.

Technical changes in the car are not so outstanding. Specialists from the FAB Design has tuned engine block and increased the power of a 6-liter V12 biturbo by 38 hp - Up to 650 hp. Also, worth noting is that the torque has received an additional increase of 25 Nm and now amounts to 1025 Nm. Despite this refinement, the acceleration has not significantly increased. Acceleration up to 100 km / h sedan reaches for 4.9 s and top speed now is 303 km / h due to the removed limiter.

Also Maybach got the original wheels with sport tires on the 265/30 R20 and 325/25 R20 dimension. And the interior was skinned with cream leather and blue Alcantara.

After tuning the time of acceleration to 0-100 km / h is reduced from 9.6 to 8.0 seconds. To now ABT Sportsline has not finished working with the new 2-liter TSI engines. But their ideology allows to count on a significant increase in power

Kristian Mayer, 40 years old, races for his pleasure and for his money in the German series of Formula Ford. This is his favorite sport: Herr Mayer devotes all his spare time to racing and is very upset when the judge gives a swing with a checkered flag. After all, he has to get home in a regular car.

Mayer did not want to part with the bolide so much that he has decided to rebuild the formula vehicle into a car for public roads. The main problem was to get the approval from the German technical supervisory authority TUV, because without their expert opinions no vehicle can come on the road.

And because the original are only chassis from Reynard 91F spatial frame, plastic fenders and lighting equipment where hoisted on top of them. The front spoiler and rear wing are strengthened to play a bumper role. In addition, horn and hand brake were built in to the car.

As a result of adaptation formula vehicle’s mass has grown by 105 kg - up to 525. It has not affected the dynamics. After all, the engine is from another car. Combat vehicles are equipped with 140hp-strong Ford Duratec 1.6 engines. But for a civic version Meyer borrowed a little bit more powerful engine - 204-strong turbomotor from the Opel Calibra coupe. The exact dynamics are unknown, but, according to Mayer’s words, it can speed up to 250 km / h. Note that original bolide’s ceiling is 230 km / h and it speeds up to the 100km/h in less than five seconds.

The whole process of construction took four years. But the adaptation work to the machine is not finished. Herr Mayer said he had his hands itching to do with the formula something else. For example, to solve the problem of all-weather driving. We are waiting for a removable roof!
